A wise man once said, “Make the most of yourself for that is all there is of you.” Someone who strives to fulfill their complete potential by exploring new talents and ventures, and working on perfecting their craft daily is what you call a legend in the making. This is what you will find with talented artist Kese. He’s a multi-talented artist ready to make a grand entrance with his music.
Hailing from Charlotte, North Carolina, Kese is a native of a city filled with an ever-growing stream of musical talent. Born Marquise Hallman, he grew up in a dominantly single parent home, with his mother and sister. Although he was well acquainted with his father, he was primarily absent due to his professional basketball career which was overseas. At a young age, Kese took a liking to rap music. Already having a good ear for it, during his middle school years he actually began rapping himself. He would engage in freestyle sessions after his classes. The freestyling conditioned him to be a full blown rapper; exercising his lyrical skills and wittiness is exactly what got him prepared for what was to come.
Being influenced by hip hop heavyweights Biggie, 2Pac, Nas, Jay Z, N.W.A., and T.I., on top of possessing freestyle talents, Kese was sure to develop into a well-rounded artist. In 2011, he dropped his first single titled “Back to the Hood”. After its release, he took a moment to re-group, and came back with a new single in 2014 titled “I Say I”. The single seemed to begin garnering him some attention, so came right back in 2015 with another single titled “Cut The Check”. The single was well-received and served as another sign that he is meant to continue building his career in music.
Kese is an artist who has the gift of storytelling in his rhymes, all while showcasing his lyrical talent. Not only is he an artist, but he’s a small business owner.
